Our mission is to grow and promote healthy food for city neighborhoods through gardening, nutritional and environmental education and service. Beardsley Community Farm practices, teaches, and promotes organic sustainable gardening practices. We also promote buying produce locally through nutrition and environmental education. Last, but not least, we are a productive green space in downtown Knoxville for everyone to enjoy. Beardsley Community Farm is funded through Knox County CAC and is a volunteer run organization. We donate all produce to our volunteers, to local food pantries, and to local shelters. We provide many community plots people can sign up to use as their own gardens. We work side by side with volunteers who would like to learn more about gardening. We facilitate workshops, loan tools to community gardeners, host in and out-of-class gardening and environmental education lessons. We are a resource for folks who are interested in gardening, nutrition, and the environment to meet each other, share ideas, and work together.
